Chitin has been used in traditional Chinese medicine from as early as 500A.D. for various applications from dispelling wind-heat to relieving spasms. We have advanced considerably and along with it, our knowledge and application of Chitin for the benefit of our health and wellbeing.

One of the most important breakthroughs is to purify Chitin into Chitosan and Glucosamine, purer forms that are processed and benefit the body much better than Chitin. Laboratory tests are also conducted to confirm the effectiveness of the application and intake of Chitosan to the human body.

Able to be applied to a wide range of therapies and prescriptions, Chitosan dramatically improves the body and helps alleviate ailments in more than just a few ways!
Chitosan Study 1:
Liver's Best Friend

One of the most impactful benefits of Chitosan is how it massively improves the health and functionality of the liver.
Liver is often an overlooked organ when we talk about health but it’s just as important as the heart. Known as the body’s “chemical plant”, the liver is responsible for many crucial tasks, chiefly processing nutrients from the food we eat and turning them into amino acids - the building blocks of the body.
Also responsible for filtering the toxins from entering the digestive system, the liver is made tough to be able to handle stress and overwork. But in the current era of pollution and food toxicity, cases of liver failure start to rise.

One such case is Hepatitis B patient, Mr. Yukihiro Shimizu from Japan. Mr. Yukihiro didn’t realize his condition until the critical stage. The combined treatment of Interferon and Minophagen C did not help improve his condition much.
Only until he started to take chitin-chitosan supplement did his antibody production was boosted to be strong enough to fight off the B-type Hepatitis Virus for the combined treatment to work.
Chitosan Study 2:
The Blood Pressure Regulator

By neutralizing chlorine ions in table salt, Chitosan eliminates the key factor that causes increased blood pressure.
Salt consumption has always been the reason why most people think it is responsible for causing hypertension and rising blood pressure. While this is technically correct, it is not the whole truth.
Research led by Dr. Hiromichi Okuda of Ehime University School of Medicine and Prof. Hideo Katoh of Hiroshima Women’s University discovered that while it’s true that the consumption of table salt is responsible for increasing blood pressure, it's only one component of salt instead of the whole.

Table salt, known as its scientific term Sodium Chloride, is made out of sodium and chlorine. The research conducted shows that you can separate sodium and chlorine in the gut and when chlorine is excreted out of the body, the blood pressure is noticeably reduced.
This finding is credited due to the discovery of Chitosan - the only dietary fiber having a positive charge. This allows it to attract and bind with the negatively-charged chlorine, allowing it to be separated from sodium and safely excreted out of the body.
Chitosan Study 4:
Improves Gout Conditions

The uric acid lowering of chitosan is well-studied and is considered one of its most important and beneficent mechanisms.
Although it is known that the uric acid metabolism in the body fluctuates due to various physiological factors, one of the major contributors in the rise of uric acid level is due to an excessive intake of foods with high amounts of nucleic acid like seafood and nuts causing conditions such as gout and hyperuricemia.
Chitosan works by inhibiting the absorption of purines such as nucleic acids and purine nucleotides into the living body. Studies have reported that Chitosan have a strong absorptivity to negatively charged polymeric nucleic acids and nucleotides under weakly acidic conditions like the human digestive system.

The effect of Chitosan on purines was first tested in vitro on animals by Wada et al. Koguchi et al. The level of uric acid is found to be drastically reduced in the body and increased in the excretion. Chitosan in particular is most effective compared to other dietary fibers such as cellulose, pectin and chitin.
The series of tests is then repeated clinically and the same serum uric acid lowering effect of Chitosan is reported without any side effects.
Chitosan Study 3:
Combating Obesity and Diabetes Mellitus

Working in a two-pronged approach, Chitosan improves the condition of obesity and diabetes by filtering and cleaning the insides of the guts.
Chitin-Chitosan has been reported to improve diabetes in two ways. The first one is by lowering the blood sugar level that is said to cause diabetes from high to a more manageable level.
The second way is by improving and even curing some complications occurring with diabetes. This is even confirmed by basic research being carried out in universities.

This is again, due to chitosan’s unique property of being the only known positively charged dietary fiber in nature, allowing it to remove cholesterol and excess fats and cleaning the inside of the guts.
Working in conjunction with medicines, chitosan is able to treat diabetes, high blood pressure and liver dysfunction. The improvements can then be maintained with chitosan alone without the need to continue taking medicine.
It All Begin In The Guts
The gut is the gateway between what we eat and what goes into our system. Chitosan take advantage of this simple fact and absorb all the harmful material and expel it out before it even gets processed into the body.
By taking out harmful substances like chlorine out of salt, cholesterol, excess sugar and fats as well as various toxins, chitosan dramatically reduces a wide variety of diseases from forming and keeps it that way.
Thanks to its unique property of being a positively charged dietary fiber, chitosan is the best natural option when it comes to getting rid of harmful substances in your food to improve your general health and wellbeing.
